Executive Team Development
We provide a range of services to assist executive teams. With our clients, we have designed team start up retreats as well as team audits and interventions throughout the team’s life cycle. Research has shown that teams that do not pay attention to their interactive dynamic suffer productivity losses at some point in their evolution. Our services have included development of team norms of behaviours, team conflict management strategies, profiling of team members’ interpersonal styles related to decision making and problem solving, identification of team development needs and team leadership mandates. Our tailored interventions are always linked to the team’s divisional or corporate strategy to ensure that the outcomes improve the group’s overall corporate contribution. This is reinforced through our hallmark ‘team accountability sessions’.
Bench Strength Evaluation
There are points in an organization’s evolution when a Board or CEO requires an assessment of a respective team’s bench-strength. We provide team audits for corporations, which include both interview and formal assessment approaches based on a review of the team’s mandate, strategic imperatives and perceived gaps. A team audit may be warranted in greenfield / start – up situations, merger and acquisition scenarios, during growth or re-structuring activities.
Interpersonal Mediation / Conflict Resolution
We provide services and interventions to assist executives improve their interpersonal interactions. Poor executive interpersonal dynamics can strain their respective team members, as well as staff, which ultimately impacts the organization’s productivity. Our approaches include interviews and assessment, along with articulation of a development plan for the individual’s involved.
Business Planning
Virtually every organization has some type of annual business planning and budgeting process in place. Most also engage in some type of strategic planning on a less regular basis, and many also have in place a performance management system for individual executives. Unfortunately, these different systems and processes are often not effectively integrated. We work with clients to design and implement a business planning process which effectively ensures that overall strategic priorities inform and drive annual business plans and budgets. Our process further ensures that these priorities in turn serve as the basis for individual goal setting and performance management of the executives charged with implementing the plans. The outcome is a business planning and priority setting process that effectively aligns the organization’s financial and human resources with its key strategic priorities. |
